Beauty Foods Shopping List

Eat your way to beautiful skin.

You are what you eat. That’s true in terms of your fitness level, but it’s also true for your eyes, skin, teeth, and hair. Use this beauty foods shopping list to start creating beauty from the inside.

Shining eyes, clear complexion, bright teeth, and strong hair have their foundation in lifestyle. A clean eating diet, one that favors minimally-processed or whole foods, is a smart way to put your best face forward. These foods are loaded with antioxidants to help fight inflammation as well as support skin cell maintenance and turnover.

In addition to antioxidants and other nutrients, some clean-eating beauty foods, like avocado, offer good fats, which build the foundation for healthy cells in the skin and throughout the body. Research suggests essential fatty acids can also decrease the inflammation linked to acne [1].

It’s also important to eat three small meals and two healthy snacks each day to maintain blood sugar levels. Insulin spikes that come from overeating or from consuming sugary foods may play a role in skin inflammation [1].
